<p><strong>Our leaders are not meeting the moment at any level of government, especially nationally.</strong> Our children's future deserves someone that is not afraid to advocate on behalf of schools, employees, parents, and students!</p><p>I don't believe in throwing my hands in the air and saying "oh well, we lost funding" and just approve cuts. Not without fighting for every dollar, calling legislators, talking to the community, or writing grants. We don't cut programs, deny union requests, allow teachers to spend out of pocket, deny parent support requests unless we've tried everything.</p><p>It's not "we can't", it's "how can we?"</p>

<p><strong>Every parent fears their kid experiencing either racism, bullying, or god-forbid suicidal ideation.</strong> My fear is any child losing their spark for learning due to feeling unsafe. It is so hard being a kid, especially a kid in todays world. The best part of being a kid is being allowed to make mistakes as long as those mistakes become a learning opportunity or opportunity for mentorship. Kids that exhibit racist or bullying behavior deserve mentorship and counseling. Kids that are the victims of racism or bullying deserve acknowledgement, reassurance, and counseling.</p><p>Every child, teacher/staff, and parent should confidently walk into our schools as they are, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, faith background, abilities, languages, immigration statuse, and nation of origin. All are welcome!&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Less than half of our students meet or exceed state standards, in some areas it's only one third.</strong><span style="color: var(--color-text); text-decoration-color: var(--color-text);"> Right outside of Oxnard are some of the highest rated schools in the State, but our district is special. </span>We need to connect with families and the community to identify and solve root causes of chronic absenteeism, student achievement, and other critical areas to building well-rouneded students.</p>

<p><strong>Staff and Teachers are feeling unseen and unheard.</strong> As I've talked to RSD employees over the past few weeks, a common theme has come up, they are feeling like their voice does not matter to the Board of Trustees. I am a strong proponent of Servant Leadership, as a Trustee I work for and serve the community, parents, students, and the district employees.</p>

<h2>Staff and Teacher Support</h2>

<p><strong>The RiverPark residents pay for additional maintenance of Rio Schools. </strong>I'm happy to pay it, but district budgets need proper oversight. Our current board approves nearly all requests without question. I oppose the blank check without question status quo.</p><p>I have spent years managing regional books and found hundreds of thousands in vendor billing abuse, misused funds, and theft.</p>
